Descripton: Engraving on the pedestal. A similar sculpture was published in the book: Dementieva L.A., Evgeniy Lansere. Album of sculptural models. M.: State Historical Museum. 2011. pp. 70-71. The wax model was created by E.A. Lansere in 1873 and was presented at the Academic Exhibition, after which the rights to cast it in bronze were acquired by the Factory of Artistic Bronze F.Yu. Chopin. The genre composition depicts a linear Cossack and a Cossack woman on horseback. Representatives of the Russian Cossacks who lived and served on the border fortifications of Russian troops in the Caucasus in the 18th-19th centuries were called linear.
