Exhibitions

Auction exhibition №199 is open from April 20 to May 20.

When collecting lots for this auction, an emphasis was placed on large private collections, from which it was possible to attract outstanding works spanning three centuries of mainly Russian art — from the middle of the 19th century to the works of modern authors.

More than 150 lots have been announced for the upcoming auction, including paintings, graphics, theatrical sketches, posters, sculpture, decorative and applied arts and artistic photography. Among the top lots are works by E.E. Volkov, A.G. Tyshler and A.B. Lakhovsky.

In the painting section, a special place is occupied by works of the late XIX — early XX century: lyrical landscapes and genre scenes, including "Siverskaya. Ford across the Stream" by K.J. Kryzhitsky, "Birch Grove" by G.Z. Bashinjagyan and "Alqadar Estate in Crimea" by I.S. Galkin.

The theatrical theme is revealed through rare sketches of costumes and sets by such masters as A.N. Benois, N.S. Goncharova, N.A. Ushin and A.N. Degai. Graphics and poster art are represented by works by Yu.I. Pimenov, V.V. Lebedev, D.S. Moore, as well as Soviet propaganda and publishing posters from the 1920s and 1960s. Special attention should be paid to magazine graphics and cartoons reflecting the spirit of their time.

The art of the 20th century includes works by recognized Soviet masters: A.A. Plastov, S.V. Gerasimov, V.F. Stozharov, B.V. Shcherbakov, V.M. Sidorov, D.D. Zhilinsky, as well as representatives of the "harsh style" — G.M. Korzhev, P.P. Ossovsky and I.P. Obrosov.

A significant place in the exhibition is occupied by the works of classics of Russian modern art, including Tsereteli Z.K., Kalinin V.V., Povzner L.A. and others.

A large section of decorative and applied art includes porcelain, glass, and silver from private collections.

A separate section consists of author's photographs of the classics of Soviet photojournalism — E.A. Khaldei, D.N. Baltermants and E.N. Evzerikhin, who captured key moments of history and everyday life of the 20th century.

The pre-auction exhibition will be held from April 20 to May 20 at Shchepkina St., 28.

The exhibition is open on weekdays from 10:00 to 19:00.

We will be happy to provide all the necessary information, accept applications for absentee participation and applications for bidding by phone.
