Size: 35x16x11. Technique: Bronze. Descripton: The sculpture up for auction is a model of the monument of the same name erected in St. Petersburg. The monument, 190 cm high, is cast from bronze. A. S. Charkin portrayed Ostap Bender similar to Sergei Yursky, who played the great schemer in 1968 in the film The Golden Calf. Ostap is depicted wearing the famous scarf, cap and jacket. He stands with his head held high, resting his left hand on a chair made by Master Gumbs - the target of his hunt in the novel The Twelve Chairs. With his right hand, Ostap Bender holds a folder with a dossier on the underground millionaire A. Koreiko from the novel “The Golden Calf.” The monument is made so that everyone can sit on a chair and take a photo. The monument to Ostap Bender in St. Petersburg was erected near Jaco’s house on Italianskaya Street in the Central district of the city.
