Adrion Lucien

Adrion Lucien (1889, Strasbourg - 1953, Paris).

In 1905-1908 he studied technical drawing in Strasbourg, and worked as an illustrator for fashion magazines in Paris, London, Munich and Frankfurt. Since 1918, he studied the art of engraving with Hermann von Stuck (one of M. Chagall's mentors) in Berlin. The first series of lithographs brought him European fame. In 1921 he entered into a contract with the Sharon Gallery in Paris, where his first personal exhibition took place. He was friends with P. Kremen, H. Soutine, M. Kikoin. In 1926, together with P. Signac, he organized a major exhibition of French artists in Berlin. His works were exhibited at the Autumn Salon and the Salon of the Tuileries.
