Russian artist, member of the Collective Actions group, founder of the APTART movement. Born on January 12, 1953 in Moscow. From 1973 to 1976 he studied at the Moscow Printing Institute (faculty of artistic and technical design of printed products). 1977 - “New Soviet Art: An Unofficial Perspective”, Biennale, Venice. From 1976 to 1982 he participated in the actions of the Collective Actions group. From 1986 to 1987 he took part in the group “Central Russian Upland”. 1994 - 2nd Biennale of Contemporary Art, Cetinje, Montenegro. 2003 - scholarship with residence of the Office of Cultural Affairs of Düsseldorf. 2004 - scholarship from the Joseph Brodsky Foundation and the American Academy in Rome. In March 2010, he signed the appeal of the Russian opposition “Putin must leave.” Lives and works in Moscow.
