In 1861 he entered the Copenhagen Academy of Arts. In 1876 he moved to Munich, where he repeatedly participated in exhibitions. In 1864-1913. exhibited in Charlottenburg (Copenhagen). Professor at the Munich Academy of Arts. In 1883 he was elected a member of the Academy of Arts in Copenhagen. Paintings by Andersen-Lundby are in the collections of many museums in Europe, including the Aalborg Art Museum, the Copenhagen Art Museum (Denmark), the Neue Pinakothek in Munich, as well as in private collections.
