Angeli Giuseppe (XVIII century).

Venetian artist, student of J.B. Piazzettas. One of the founders of the Venetian Academy. Worked in Venice. He painted mainly altar compositions and frescoes for Venetian churches. He also performed portraits, genre paintings (for example, “Man with a Drumming Youth”, Louvre, Paris; see Thieme/Becker), mythological subjects for the palazzo (for example, a composition in Rovigo). Angeli's largest works are the painting of the dome in the Church of San Rocco in Venice; Our Lady in Glory in the great chapel of Santa Maria dei Frari; Conception of Mary (1756) in San Francesco della Vigna; altar in San Stefano, San Canziano, and also for some churches in Padua and Rovigo.
