Arakelov Vartan Nerserovich (1910–1985)

Soviet monumental painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Known for creating an artistic portrait-panel of Generalissimo of the USSR I.V. Stalin, made in the style of Florentine mosaic. He made many portraits of scientists and cosmonauts decorating the interiors of buildings in the cities of the former USSR.
