Arkhipov Abram Efimovich

Arkhipov Abram Efimovich (1862, Ryazan province -1930, Moscow).

People's Artist of the RSFSR (1927). Full member of the Academy of Arts (1916). Academician (1898). He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1877–1883 ​​and 1886–1888) under the guidance of V.G. Perova, V.D. Polenov and V.E. Makovsky, in 1884–1886. at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Visited France, Germany and Italy. Since 1912 he often traveled to the Russian North. He was a member of the Association of Itinerants (from 1891) and one of the founders of the Union of Russian Artists (from 1904). He taught at MUZHVZ, Free Art Workshops and Vkhutemas. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and in many regional museums.
