Z.P. Arshakuni graduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after. I.E. Repin from the workshop of I.A. Silver. His creative range is varied: painting, graphics (pastel and colored pencil drawings, linoleum engraving, etching, lithography, book appliqué, layout), decorative and applied arts (carved and painted furniture, stained glass). Since 1962, Arshakuni has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. He is one of the active participants in the groups “Eleven” (exhibitions in 1972 and 1976 at Okhta, in Leningrad, and also together with G.P. Egoshin and V.I. Tyulenev, members of this group, in the Central House of Artists in Moscow, 1982) and “26” - together with Muscovites and Leningraders - in the Leningrad Central Exhibition Hall (1990). Arshakuni is a participant in about 200 exhibitions in our country and abroad. Among them are personal ones: Dresden, Kunstmuseum (graphics), 1980; Leningrad, Union of Artists, 1981; Vologda, Picture Gallery, 1982; Novosibirsk 1984; Kostroma, Art Museum, 1988; Moscow, Exhibition Hall of the editorial office of the magazine “Our Heritage”, 1997. The artist designed a number of theatrical performances, as well as executed sketches of monumental paintings and stained glass windows. His works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and the Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin and other museums in the country, as well as in foreign collections (a total of 35 museums in the CIS countries and abroad), including the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; P. Ludwig Museum, Cologne; Kunstmuseum, Dresden, etc.
