Born in Leningrad. In 1953 he graduated from the V.I. Mukhina Leningrad Art and Art Pedagogical University, workshop of Alexander Kazantsev. He studied with Pyotr Sidorov, Alexander Samokhvalov, and Genrikh Pavlovsky. Participant of exhibitions since 1954. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1964. Personal exhibitions in Leningrad (1970) and Hamburg (1994).
