Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Vladimir Andreevich Bantikov was born in 1944. He studied at the secondary art school at the I.E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, graduating in 1963. He continued his education at the art and graphic department of the Herzen Pedagogical Institute, graduating from the university in 1971, completing his graduation work in the form of a series of illustrations for “The Queen of Spades” by A.S. Pushkin. Bantikov's works are known mainly abroad. His paintings were constantly exhibited in Ms. Nakamuro’s galleries; one of the artist’s works was exhibited at a Stockholm auction in 2008.
