Basov Yakov Alexandrovich

Soviet artist. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1978). From 1922 to 1930 he studied in the studio of academician of painting N.S. Samokisha in Simferopol. In 1937 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Since 1935 - participant of republican, all-Union and international exhibitions. Since 1946 he lived and worked in Crimea: Alupka and Yalta. Since 1958 - member of the National Union of Artists. In 1968-1976 - member of the board of the Crimean organization of the National Agricultural Union. Based on a collection of paintings donated to the city by Y.A. Basov, a city museum of the artist’s painting was opened. The author's works are in the collections of the Alupka Palace Museum, the Simferopol Art Museum and other museum collections, as well as in private collections
