She studied at the Art Studio of the All-Russian Central Council of Trade Unions, then at the Moscow State Art Institute. V.I. Surikov at P.D. Pokarzhevsky and A.A. Deineki (1939-1941, 1945–1948). The diploma work “Children at the monument to Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya” was completed under the guidance of P.D. Pokarzhevsky. Participant of exhibitions since 1942. Constantly exhibited at Moscow, republican and all-Union exhibitions. In 1956-1968 made trips to Gurzuf in 1963-1975. to Armenia, 1968 - to Bulgaria. Active member of the board of the Painters' Club. Since 1970 - member of the Council of the Moscow House of Artists. Personal exhibitions of I.N. Bassinova took place in Moscow in 1982 and 1984.
