Baturin Viktor Pavlovich (1863 - 1938)

Russian artist. In 1882, he was accepted into the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (MUZhVZ) after a competitive examination. His teachers were P. S. Sorokin and S. I. Ivanov (sculpture), and I. M. Pryanishnikov and P. A. Desyatov (painting). Life-based painting was taught by V. E. Makovsky, E. S. Sorokin, and V. D. Polenov. Baturin graduated from the School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture in 1888. He participated in three exhibitions of the Moscow Traveling Society of Artists and was one of the organizers of the TPWH. He also participated in exhibitions of the St. Petersburg Society of Artists, and was a member of the society from 1910. His painting "The Garden in Bloom" was purchased for the Winter Palace at an exhibition of paintings by the St. Petersburg Society. The author's works are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and other museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
