Bazhbeuk-Melikyan Lavinia Alexandrovna (1922).

Soviet, Russian and Armenian artist, full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, People's Artist of the Armenian SSR. In 1944 she graduated from the Art College. P. Terlemezyan in Yerevan, and in 1951 the Moscow Art Institute. Surikov. After completing her studies at the institute, Lavinia worked on a mosaic panel in the Moscow metro under the guidance of People's Artist of the USSR P.D. Korin. The artist painted landscapes of Armenia, pictures from the life of Armenian peasants; In recent years, she worked mainly in the studio, creating portraits of fellow artists, self-portraits, and still lifes, which art critics consider the pinnacle of her work. Awarded a silver medal of the USSR Academy of Arts (1981).
