One of the founders of Russian hyperrealism. Organizer and participant of the first exhibitions of hyperrealist artists. In 1977 he graduated from the Kyiv Academy of Fine Arts, in 1988, a course in art workshops at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Lives and works in Moscow. Since 1979, he has participated in more than 100 exhibitions in Russia and abroad. S. Bazilev's works are in numerous museums around the world: the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, Peter Ludwig in Cologne, Walter Bischoff in Stuttgart, Norton Dodge in the USA, as well as in many corporate and private collections in America, Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan and other countries.
