Son of the artist K. P. Beggrov. Painter and watercolorist. Many of his works are devoted to maritime themes - views of port cities, depictions of famous sea vessels. Having inherited artistic abilities from his father, A.K. Beggrov nevertheless became a naval officer. Only in 1870, as a fully grown man, did he begin to visit the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts as a volunteer student in the workshop of M. K. Klodt. In 1871-74. continued his education in Paris with J.-F. Bonna and A.P. Bogolyubov. Since 1874, he has taken part in exhibitions at the TPHV, and since 1876 he has become a full member of the partnership. In 1885, the artist was one of the founders of the Society of Russian Watercolorists. In 1899, the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts awarded him the title of academician of painting, and in 1912 he was already its honorary member. During his lifetime the artist enjoyed great fame. His works were reproduced in such popular magazines as Niva, Sever, and World Illustration.
