Graduated from the Ivanovo Art School (1953), master of portrait and landscape. The artist stands at the origins of professional fine art in the Mari autonomy, and is one of the organizers of the Mari branch of the Union of Artists of Russia (1961). Active creativity and social activities of Yu.S. Belkov promotes the development and strengthening of realistic art. Works by Yu.S. Belkov's works are in museums and private collections in Russia, the Republic of Mari El, and in foreign collections in the USA, France, India, and Finland.
