Belomlinsky Mikhail Samuilovich (1934-2020)

Soviet and American illustrator. Graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Repin. From 1957 to 1989, he was a member of the creative association “Combat Pencil”, author of satirical posters. He worked largely with children's literature. Since 1971 he worked as the chief artist of the Koster magazine. In 1989 he emigrated to the USA. In New York he worked at the newspaper “New Russian Word”, and then at the newspaper “Russian Bazaar”. Among the works he illustrated are “A Yankee in King Arthur’s Court” by Mark Twain, “The Talking Bundle” by Gerald Durrell, “Don Quixote” and many other books. In total, Belomlinsky designed and illustrated more than 250 books.
