Soviet and Russian artist, professor, People's Artist of the RSFSR (1981), Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1974). In the 1940s, he worked in the studio of amateur artists at the Hammer and Sickle plant and was involved in the design of the House of Officers of the Moscow Military District. In 1952 he entered the Moscow State Art Institute named after V. I. Surikov, his teachers were professors F. P. Reshetnikov and V. G. Tsyplakova. After graduating from the institute, he moved to Kostroma, where in 1958 he began working as a teacher at the Kostroma Art School. In 1964 - 1983 - teacher of special disciplines at the art and graphic faculty of the Kostroma Pedagogical Institute named after N. A. Nekrasov, since 1968 - professor. The author's works are presented in the Kostroma Museum of Fine Arts, the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War and other museums in Russia.
