He studied at the Odessa Art School, and from 1894 at the Academy of Arts. At the end of 1900 he received the title of artist for a number of landscape paintings. Long-term exhibitor at exhibitions of the Academy of Arts and the Association of Artists. He performed mainly landscapes, and later paintings on revolutionary themes. Director of art. workshops of the IOPH Drawing School (since 1902). His works are kept in the State Russian Museum and the Tver Regional Art Gallery.
