Polish cameraman, screenwriter, director and teacher. During World War II he worked as a cameraman in Soviet cinema. After the war, he became the organizer of the technical basis of Polish cinematography in Krakow and Lodz. Long-term teacher and first dean of the camera department (1948-51, 1952-58). He actively participated in the training of filmmakers in Zurich and the American Film Institute in Hollywood. In 1961-68 he was the artistic director of the Syrena film studio.
