Berggolts Richard Alexandrovich (1864, St. Petersburg - 1920, Petrograd).

Academician. Russian watercolor artist, painter, graphic artist. Full member of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Member of the St. Petersburg Society of Artists. Since 1895 - member of the Society of Russian Watercolorists, in 1904-1918. served as Chairman of the Society. One of the founders of the A.I. Kuindzhi Society of Artists. Since 1912 member of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Master of the Russian landscape school at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. He studied at the gymnasium department of Petrishule from 1878 to 1880, then at the gymnasiums of Pernov and Dorpat. In 1884-1887. studied at the R. Julian Academy in Paris with L.-J. Pelusa, at the same time used the advice of A.P. Bogolyubov. In 1887-1888 lived in Düsseldorf, studied under the guidance of Professor E. Duker, and the next year he studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts.
