Bistrup Herluf (1912-1988)

Danish cartoonist. Author of over 5 thousand drawings. Known as a master of humorous drawings and political caricatures, travel sketches and comics. Books with Bidstrup's drawings were published in the USSR in huge editions. Bidstrup was a staunch communist and was considered a progressive artist in the USSR because he denounced the capitalist West in his cartoons. He was awarded the International Lenin Prize “For Strengthening Peace Between Nations” (1964) and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1972).
