Билибин И.Я.

Bilibin Ivan Yakovlevich (1876, Tarkhovka near St. Petersburg - 1942, Leningrad).

Graphic artist, theater artist. He studied at the Drawing School of the OPH (1895 - 1898), in Munich in the studio of A. Azhbe, at the school - workshop of M.K. Tenisheva at I.E. Repin (1898 – 1900) and at the Academy of Arts as a volunteer student (1900 – 1904). Member of the World of Art association (since 1896). Founding member of the Union of Artists. In 1907 - 1917 he taught at the Drawing School of the College of Arts. Professor AH (1936 – 1942).
