Birchansky Rafael (Raphael) Petrovich (1883, Moscow – 1953, Paris).

Painter, graphic artist. Artist of the Russian emigration. Nephew and student of I.I. Levitan. In 1908-1912 he exhibited his works at exhibitions in St. Petersburg. In 1920 he emigrated and lived in Paris. Since 1935 he exhibited at the salons: Autumn, Tuileries, Independent. Participant of exhibitions of Russian artists organized by the Union of Soviet Patriots (1945, 1947). Held personal exhibitions in the gallery "Charpentier" in Paris (1935, 1937), "P. Loujetzky" in The Hague (1938). The author's works are presented in many private and museum collections in Russia and abroad, including the Chuvash State Art Museum in Cheboksary and the Grenoble Museum (France).
