Studied at the Academy of Arts in the workshop of I.E. Repin (1893-1900). Since 1916 - academician of painting. Since 1911 - member of the Union of Russian Artists. Participant of exhibitions since 1899. Exhibited at exhibitions of the associations MTH (1909), NOH (1909), Union of Russian Artists (1911-1917), “Community of Artists”, “Sixteen Artists”. He taught at the school of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts in St. Petersburg (1905-1917), at the All-Russian Academy of Arts. At international exhibitions in Munich he was awarded small (1911) and large (1913) gold medals. The artist’s personal exhibition took place in 1947 in Leningrad. He taught at the school of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts in St. Petersburg (1905-1917), at the All-Russian Academy of Arts. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and in many regional museums.
