Bri-Bein Maria Feliksovna

Bri-Bein Maria Feliksovna (1892-1971).

Painter, graphic artist, poster artist. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (Member of the Moscow Union of Artists since 1932). Author of thematic paintings and portraits. In 1910–1915 she studied at the Odessa Art School (OXU) with K.K. Kostandi. She taught as an assistant to P. G. Volokidin in the production workshops of Sorabis in Odessa. Since 1924 she studied in Moscow with I. I. Mashkov. She was a member and exhibitor of the TYURH (1917–1919); AHRR (Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia, 1926–1928) and AHRR (Association of Artists of the Revolution, 1928–1932). An active participant in exhibitions since 1917. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery (“At the University of the Working People of the East” 1929, “Woman Radio Operator” 1930). Posters by M. F. Bri-Bain are stored in the collections of the Russian State Library (RSL) and the National Library of Belarus.
