Gor Chahal (Gor Razmikovich Hovhannisyan). Multimedia artist. One of the first, along with Bogdan Mamonov, of Russian “contemporary Christian artists”. Initiator of the dialogue between artists and the top of the Russian Orthodox Church. From 1972 to 1976 he studied drawing in the studio of Tatyana Kiparisova. In 1985 he graduated with honors from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute with a degree in Applied Mathematics. In the same year, together with the poet Arkady Semyonov and the rock group Polite Refusal, he organized the Parallel Actions group. In 1989, he starred in the leading role in the film “The Devotee.” In 1985-86. was a scholarship recipient of the Berlin Academy of Arts (Akademie der Kunst). In 2004 he received a scholarship from the MuseumsQuartier, Vienna. Chahal's works were exhibited at exhibitions in Russia, Austria, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, France, Japan, the USA, Lithuania, Egypt, and Armenia. Presented in the Russian Museum, Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, galleries in the USA and private collections in many countries.
