Born in the Ryazan region. In 1935 he moved to Ufa. There he graduated from the Ufa School of Arts. Then he moved to Moscow, where he graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Arts. Surikov (workshop of V. Tsyplakov. Soon he returned to Ufa and began teaching at the Ufa School of Arts. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. From 1988 to 1998 he lived and worked in Moscow.
