Charushin Evgeniy Ivanovich

Charushin Evgeny Ivanovich (1901-1965, Leningrad).

Graphic artist, writer. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1945). He studied at the Academy of Arts (1922-26) with A. I. Savinov and A. A. Rylov. Since 1927, he has been a graphic artist in the Leningrad children's department of the State Publishing House. Author of illustrations for books by V.K. Arsenyev, V.V. Bianki, S.Ya. Marshak, M.M. Prishvin, N.I. Sladkov, K.I. Chukovsky, as well as his own books ("Volchishko and others", 1931; "Nikitka and his friends", 1938; "My first zoology", parts 1-3, 1942-44; "Animals", 1949; "About big and small", 1952; "About Tomka", 1957). He created easel lithographs for children, painted porcelain and small sculptures for the Leningrad Porcelain Factory.
