Chernov Alexander Nikolaevich

Born in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in 1955. From 1965 to 1971 he studied at Art School No. 2. From 1971 to 1976 he studied at the Theater and Art School. He worked as a printer at the Graphic Arts Combine. In 1984 he graduated from the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. Since 1985 - teacher at the Printing Institute. Since 1987 – member of the Moscow Union of Artists (section “Print”). He is engaged in painting, graphics, and monumental painting. Participant of many exhibitions in Russia and abroad, associate professor of the Department of Illustration at Moscow State University. His teachers are A.V. Vasnetsov, A.M. Bugakov, A.A. Livanov. Chernov Alexander Nikolaevich works in the traditions of the Moscow creative school. The traditions of plastic drawing developed in Russia, thanks to the activities of such wonderful artists and teachers as P.P. Chistyakov and V.A. Favorsky. The traditions of Favorsky's school were continued by the art department of the Printing Institute. A.V. played a special role in preserving traditions and developing the methodological heritage. Vasnetsov – student of A.D. Goncharov, who headed the Union of Artists of the USSR for many years. Possessing a high level of culture and professionalism, he raised a galaxy of outstanding artistic personalities, one of whom is Alexander Nikolaevich Chernov. Chernov’s paintings and graphics are characterized by a clear spatial and constructive structure. He constructs his works analytically, using the emotional component of creativity to create an image. Alexander’s favorite themes are still life and landscape.
