Ceslovas Janusas (1907-1993)

Artist. In 1922-1944. lived in Lithuania. In 1931 he graduated from the Kaunas art school. In 1931-1933 worked at the Pasvalis Higher School of Economics, 1933-1937. at the VIth Secondary School of Kaunas and the State Theater of Kaunas. From 1937 he taught at the Kaunas School of Crafts (1940-1941 - director). He created the scenery for S. Shimkus’s opera “The Village at the Estate or Pagirenai” (1942), S. Santvaras’s drama “Neighbors” (1943), both at the State Theater; performances of the Lithuanian Theater of Würzburg (1946), Lithuanian Folk Ensemble of the USA). In 1945-1949 had his own art studio in Würzburg and Swabian Gmünd. Since 1949 he lived in New York.
