Full member of the USSR Academy of Arts. People's Artist of the USSR. Corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the GDR. Painter, graphic artist, monumental and decorative artist and sculptor. He studied at the Kharkov Art School (1915-1917) in Moscow at VKHUTEMAS / VKHUTEIN (1920-1925). One of the organizers and ideological inspirers of the OST artistic group (1925-1927). He was a member of the "October" society (1928-1930), RAPH (1931-1932). Participant of exhibitions since 1924. One of the first to turn to industrial and sports topics. Since the 1930s a big place in the work of A.A. Deineka became interested in monumental and decorative art. He created the panel "Stakhanovites" for the Soviet pavilion at the World Exhibition in Paris (1937). Based on sketches by A.A. Deineka and under his leadership, mosaics were made for the decoration of the Mayakovskaya and Novokuznetskaya stations of the Moscow Metro (1938, 1940-1941), Moscow State University (1951-1952) and the main foyer of the State Kremlin Palace (1960-1961). Designed the performances of “Bath” by V.V. Mayakovsky (1930, V.E. Meyerhold Theater, Moscow), "Birthday" br. Tour (1945, CTSA). He taught at VKHUTEMAS (1928-1930), MPI (1928-1934), Moscow Art Institute (1934-1946). Vice-President of the USSR Academy of Arts (1962-1966). Works by A.A. Deineks are kept in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and the Kursk State Art Gallery named after A.A. Deineka and other major museums

Description:A custom gift (exhibition) copy cast in bronze according to the author’s model by A.A. Deineka in the workshop of V.V. Lukyanov in several copies. A similar sculpture was sold in 2023 at one of the Moscow auctions for more than 14,000,000 rubles.
