Soviet painter, graphic artist, poster artist. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1942. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1976). Born in Petrograd. Son of the famous poster artist Denis (Viktor Nikolaevich Denisov). He studied at the Moscow Art Institute named after V. I. Surikov with A. A. Deineka, I. E. Grabar, G. G. Ryazhsky (1937–1942). In the 1940s, he began working at the Studio of Military Artists named after B. M. Grekov. He paints thematic paintings, including seascapes. In the 1950s–70s, the artist combined work in Grekov’s studio and poster art with painting - he painted landscapes and paintings on the theme of the Navy. In 1977, Nikolai Denisov was awarded the “Silver Medal named after M. B. Grekov” for a series of thematic works about the fleet.
