He studied at the Russian church school in Asnieres (a suburb of Paris), at the Paris State School of Fine Arts (1944-1946). He created about 200 engravings and lithographs for the famous publishing houses Maeght, Lacouriere, London Art Graphic, etc. Since 1965, he has been engaged in sculpture. In 1954 he received the Pacquement prize, in 1959 - the first prize of the Paris Biennale, in 1960 - the second prize of Marzotto (Italy), in 1964 - the main prize of the Biennale des Jeunes Peintres (Tokyo), in 1966 - the medal of the Alexandria Biennale. P. Dmitrienko’s works are in the Museums of Modern Art in Paris, New York, Melbourne, Mexico City, Dijon, the National Center for Contemporary Art in Paris, the Tate Gallery in London, the Royal Museum of Art in Brussels, the Tel Aviv Museum, the Cantini Museum in Marseille, etc.
