Japaridze Ucha Malakievich

Studied in 1922-24. in the People's Studio of M.I. Toidze, Academy of Arts with V.D. Gudiashvili, E. E. Lansere. He was a member of SARMA (1929-1932). Participant of exhibitions since 1924. Creates numerous works dedicated to the life of the Georgian village, portraits of historical figures and contemporaries, as well as portraits of types of Georgian peasants, a series of tempera drawings based on the poem “The Knight in the Skin of a Tiger”. He performed a number of monumental panels for public organizations in Georgia. His drawings from foreign business trips (Czechoslovakia, Italy, France) were repeatedly exhibited at his personal exhibitions. In 1954-63 and 1970-73. –Chairman of the Board of the Georgian Union of Artists. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts since 1958.
