Efimov Ivan Semenovich

Honored Artist of the RSFSR. People's Artist of the RSFSR. Author of articles on art, autobiographical notes. He studied at the private art studio of N.A. Martynov in 1896–1898. A student at the Faculty of Science at Moscow University in 1898–1900, he simultaneously studied at the private art school of E.N. Zvantseva in 1899–1900. He continued his studies at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1906–1908 and 1912–1913 in drawing and painting classes with V.A. Serov and in the sculpture department with S.M. Volnukhin. In 1908–1911 he made a number of trips around Europe for artistic and educational purposes. He studied in Paris - attended the school of F. Colarossi and studied etching with E. S. Kruglikova in 1910–1911. Member of the circle of Russian artists in Paris "Montparnasse", member of the Moscow Association of Artists (MTH; since 1907), the Society of Russian Sculptors (ORS; 1926–1927; deputy chairman of the society), associations "Four Arts", "Brigade of Sculptors" ("Brigade of Eight"). Professor. He taught at the Second State Free Art Workshops (GSKhM), transformed into the Higher State Art and Technical Workshops (Vkhutemas), then at the Higher Art and Technical Institute (Vkhutein) in Moscow (1918–1930).
