Painter. Brother of landscape painter Alexander Egornov. He studied at the Drawing School (1879-1881) of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts, then from 1881 at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. The first personal exhibition took place in St. Petersburg in 1904. In his work he was a follower of academic traditions. He worked as a portrait painter, landscape painter, and historical painter; painted nude female figures, created genre compositions in the spirit of “salon academicism”. Works by Egornov S.S. are in a number of museum collections, including the State Russian Museum.
