Ekgorst Vasily Efimovich (1831 – 1901).

Studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. In 1857 he received a second silver medal, in 1860 he was awarded the title of class artist and the first silver medal. Participant of exhibitions of the Academy of Arts, the Institute of Exhibitions of Art Works (1877; 1879; 1880), the Philadelphia International Exhibition (1876), etc. He worked in an academic direction, painted genre paintings in the style of “folk scenes”. The works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Russian Museum.
