Eremyan Varsham Nikitich

Film artist, painter, graphic artist. He studied at MUZHVZ (1917) and Vkhutemas in Moscow (1921 - 1926) with S.V. Gerasimova, A.D. Drevina, R.R. Falka. Lived in Samarkand in 1918 – 1921. and 1927 – 1937, then – Tashkent. Participant of exhibitions since 1918. Since 1937 - artist at the film studio "Uzbek Film" (1944 - 1963 - chief artist). He designed and illustrated books for publishing houses of the Taj SSR and Uzbek SSR. He painted for the satirical magazine “Mushtum” (1928 – 1963), and made political posters (1920s). He took part in the decoration of Samarkand for the revolutionary holidays (early 1920s). His works were exhibited at foreign exhibitions (France, Austria, Germany, USA). He taught at the Samarkand Art School (1918 - 1921, one of its organizers), and the Advanced Training Studio at the Union of Artists of the Uzbek SSR (since 1944).
