Russian Soviet painter, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists. He has participated in exhibitions since 1955, exhibiting his works along with works by leading masters of fine art in Leningrad. He painted landscapes, still lifes, and less often portraits and genre paintings. The works of Yu. S. Ershov are in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
