Russian landscape painter and academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts. From 1833 to 1839, he studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts under Professor M.N. Vorobyov. He graduated from the Academy in 1839 with the rank of 14th class and a large gold medal awarded for his painting "View in the Environs of Dorpat." He was then sent abroad to continue his artistic education. His works are represented in the collections of the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the A.N. Radishchev Saratov State Art Museum, and other museum and private collections.
