GALENETS HARUTYUN TIRATUROVICH (1910-1967). Armenian painter and graphic artist. Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR. Laureate of the State Prize of the Armenian SSR (1967, posthumously). Born in 1910 in Karin (Erzurum, Türkiye). At the age of five, in 1915, he was orphaned and raised in an orphanage in Aleppo (Syria), where he became interested in drawing. In 1930-1946. lived in Beirut, where he created an art studio. He was one of the founders of the Lebanese Union of Painters. He had personal exhibitions in Moscow and Yerevan. His museum is open in Yerevan, on Galentsa Street. GALENZ ARMINE SARKISOVNA (1920-2007). Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR. The artist was born into a family that escaped the genocide in 1915 by fleeing to Syria. She received her artistic education by taking lessons in Beirut from Harutyun Galents, one of the original masters of the Armenian brush. Subsequently she became his faithful life partner. The artist's first exhibition took place in Aleppo in 1939. She worked in the genre of landscape, still life, portrait, and thematic painting.
