Gassiev Khsar Izmailovich (1929, Tskhinvali, South Ossetia).

In 1950 he graduated from the Tskhinvali Art School, teacher M. Tuganov. From 1951 to 1957 he studied at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts, teachers V. Shukhaev and A. Kutateladze. In 1964 he entered graduate school at the Moscow Art Institute. V.I. Surikova, teacher V.F. Ryndin. Since 1961, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. People's Artist of the Republic of South Ossetia, Honored Artist of the Georgian SSR. The works are in the collections of the State Museum of Oriental Art, the Karakalpak State Museum of Art named after. I.V. Savitsky, other museums in Russia and the CIS.
