Gaush Alexander Fedorovich

Gaush Alexander Fedorovich (1873, St. Petersburg - 1947).

Artist, collector, philanthropist. Graduated from the Academy of Arts (1899), student of P. P. Chistyakov and A. A. Kiselev. Adjoined the artist. association "World of Art". Since the spring of 1907, he participated in the activities of the Commission for the Study and Description of Old Petersburg, from October. 1909 members directorate and 1st curator of the Museum of Old Petersburg. Together with A. N. Benois he designed the “Historical Exhibition of Architecture” in the halls of the Academy of Arts (1911). One of the founders of the City Museum (1918). Lived in his own house (English embankment, 74), settled in Crimea in 1924.
