Landscape painter, master of genre painting and portraiture. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. People's Artist of Ukraine. For 20 years he was a member of the board of the Odessa branch of the Union of Artists. Delegate to the All-Union Congress of Artists. He showed himself most fully as a landscape painter. In 1940 – 1950 he studied at the Odessa Art University (with Yu. Bershadsky, M. Mutselmacher, P. Parkhet, N. Pavlyuk). The artist’s friendship with V. Sinitsky, G. Malyshev, and K. Lomykin had a great influence on his work.
