Gershtein Semyon Ivanovich (1903-1960)

Soviet graphic artist, theater and film artist. In 1921 he graduated from the Kazan art and technical workshops, studied at VKHUTEMAS (1921-1926) with N.I. Feshin, I.I. Mashkov, V.A. Favorsky. He designed performances of the Belarusian Opera and Ballet Theater, the Moscow Theater of Satire, etc. Participated in the exhibitions “Young Artists” (1932), “XX Years of the Red Army”, “XX Years of the Komsomol” (1939). The works are presented in the State Russian Museum, the Saratov Art Museum, and the Altai Regional Museum.
