Glinsky Nikolai Borisovich (1901–1999)

Painter, graphic artist, set designer. In the 1910s he studied painting and drawing with L. Yakubovich in Moscow. In 1918 he met K.A. Korovin and planned to continue his art education in his workshop, but in the same year he left for Crimea with his family. In November 1920 he was evacuated from Yalta to Constantinople. In 1922 he moved to Bulgaria. From 1923 to 1926 he studied at the decorative department of the Bulgarian Academy of Arts in Sofia. He designed performances at the Sofia Opera House, painted landscapes, and worked in the field of book and magazine graphics. Since 1929 - member of the Union of Russian Artists in Bulgaria. Since 1935 - member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. In 1946 he received Soviet citizenship. Since 1956 he lived in Saratov. He worked as the chief artist of the Saratov Drama Theater named after. K. Marx. Since 1960 - member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The artist's works are in the Saratov State Art Museum. A.N. Radishchev and in other museums, as well as in private collections.
